I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Now as we count down to Christmas I pray that everyone continues to stay healthy and strong.

For the month of December we do not use our Big Day Curriculum as all of our lessons revolve around Christmas topics. This week we will read two versions of the Gingerbread Man and then compare them using a venn diagram. We will then read Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett. We will decorate a Gingerbread man (paper craft) using buttons, ribbons, glitter, and fun!

In math we will introduce the number 12 and we will practice counting using the book Carlo Likes Counting.

Our letter for this week is Jj. We will read “Jolly Jogger” and learn a J song. We will also make a J is for Jesus craft.

For Jesus time this month we will talk about the story of Jesus’ birth. We will begin this week with the angel visiting Mary. We will make an Advent wreath craft as today is the first Sunday in Advent and we will start a Christmas Story coloring book.

We will also learn a new prayer for this month. It is the third verse of Away in a Manger: Be near me Lord Jesus I ask you to stay, close by me forever and love me I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care, and take us to Heaven to live with you there.

This month we will also be making some secret little gifts for moms and dads for Christmas.

Have a blesses week everyone!
