Happy Thanksgiving week! A short 3 days this week with lots to fit in!

This week we are up to week 3 in our Community Unit with the topic “Things that move”. We will read I’m Your Bus, Dig Dig Digging, and Carlo Likes Counting. The Carlo book will actually be a slow read as we go through each page and practice numbers and counting. It will take us several days to complete the book. Our new vocabulary words are: driver, passengers, safety, traffic, transportation, travel, and vehicle. We have several community toys that we have been playing with including community puzzles, community blocks, and a community rug with cars, people, and buildings.

For math the next several weeks we are going to be focusing on review of numbers 1-10 before we continue onto 11 and up. We will focus on number recognition, rote counting, and one to one correspondence. We will also review patterns this week.

For Jesus time this week we will learn the story about David and Jonathan and the story will remind up to be thankful for our friends. We will also be practicing our Christmas songs which they have been doing an amazing job learning so far. We will also make thankful turkeys and talk about the things we are most thankful for.

Reminder, our Thanksgiving Feast and turkey trot will be this Wednesday. We will be feasting at 11:00 and trotting at 12:00. Parents are encouraged to join the trot if possible and morning students can be dismissed after the trot around 12:30. The weather so far is looking bright and sunny for Wednesday!

I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and blessed Thanksgiving!
