I hope everyone enjoyed Friday’s snow day and was able to get outside and play.

Our Theme for this week is Animal Homes. Our vocabulary words will be burrow, habitat, hive, nest, tunnel, and web. We will read Animal Homes, Bear Snores On, and Click Clack Quackity-Quack. We will learn about hibernation and migration and make a hibernation craft and decide whether we would like to hibernate or not, and why. We will also read Snow Bears and a Snowy Nap in our series of Jan Brett books that we will be reading throughout the year. Later in the week we will also begin learning about penguins. Wait until you see how big an Emperor Penguin really is!

Out letter for this week is Ll. We will read “Looney Lion” and learn an Ll song. We will also make an L is for Lion craft.

For Jesus time we will be learning about little boy Jesus. We will read a story called Jesus Grew as I Grow.

On Friday we will learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and make a handprint mural. We will also have off on Monday the 17th in observance of his birthday. 

For math this week we will learn #12. We will also review “How many are there?” with our ten frames.

On Monday afternoons we are now having a library time with Mrs. Kramer. She will come and read a story to us after rest time.
