Welcome to Valentine’s week. Please remember to wear your red “I in Kind” Trinity shirt on Tuesday for red day. We will have a fun class party and will be decorating Valentine’s cookies. Keep an eye on your mailbox for special Valentines that should be arriving any day!
This is week 3 of our Imagine it, Make it Big Day unit. This week our focus will be on building. I have added several pictures in the building center of things the children can recreate with blocks. Our vocabulary will be: invention, materials, and plan. We will read The Three Little Pigs, White Rabbit’s Color Book, and Buildings. Being that it is also the week before President’s week, we will be learning how to build with Lincoln Logs as well, and creating a log cabin craft.
Our letter for this week will be Rr. We will practice writing R, create a list of Rr words, and have R show and tell on Friday.
For Jesus time this week we will hear about Jesus teaching about birds and flowers. We will also continue to practice our new songs and we will visit chapel on Wednesday.
In math we will learn #17 and we will practice engineering in the building center.
For Black History Month we will learn about George Washington Carver this week.
We will also learn this week about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with our Weekly Reader.
