This Week in Art

ECC Classes will be adding lily pads and tissue paper lilies to their painted lily ponds (inspired by their lesson on artist C. Monet).

Kindergarten:  this class will be learning about the Primary, Secondary and Cool/Warm colors.

Gr. 1:  finally … we will paint a beautiful turquoise ocean over our Rainbow Fish project and add glitter to his SHINY scale.

Gr. 2:  inspired by the book Where the Wild Things Are, we will construct a Wild Thing Collage out of construction paper.

Gr. 3:  students will draw a favorite family memory and the style of quilt artist, illustrator and author, Faith Ringgold.

Gr. 4:  inspired by the delicious paintings of artist W. Thiebaud, Fourth graders will draw and color a food item using highlights and shading techniques.

Gr. 5:  students will create a “faux” batik using fall leaves, glue and watercolor resist

Gr. 6:  this class will create a Positive/Negative design drawing using crayons

Gr. 7:  students will be using their drawing journals to do a still life drawing of an organic object

Gr. 8:  this class will be learning all about the art career of an architect which will inspire them to draft plans for a residential home or business
