This Week in Art

ECC:  All classes will start their Coffee Filter Turkey project

Kindergarten:  This class will enjoy a lesson on Color Theory by singing ‘the color song.”  This is a catchy tune that teaches the primary and secondary color on the color wheel.

Gr. 1:  The students will watch a short video clip from “The Wizard of Oz.”  The video will pause at the poppy scene where a class discussion will teach the students how to draw using perspective.

Gr. 2:  Second graders will enjoy making a “Wild Thing” construction paper collage based on M. Sendak’s book, Where the Wild Things Are.

Gr. 3:  This class will design a J. MIro-inspired drawing using characteristics from the artist’s style.

Gr. 4:  Fourth graders will be making a drawing of a favorite, American, everyday activity.  This project is inspired by last week’s lesson on artist Norman Rockwell.

Gr. 5:  Grade Five will start their Optical Illusion Tunnel drawings today.

Gr. 6:  This is our last class finishing up our “Falling” drawings.

Gr. 7:  Seventh graders will finish up coloring in their Organic Shapes Abstract drawings.

Gr. 8:  The class will continue with their Fingerprint Frenzy drawings using their very own fingerprints.

Art Elective:  Our Elective students will enjoy a lesson on optical illusion drawing using tracings from their hands, circular lines and carefully colored cool and warm colors.

Keep creating and enjoy the lovely fall weather!
