This Week in Art
ECC Classes will be gluing on pom poms and assembling their sheep together.
Kindergarten will be learning how to draw a person using lines and shapes. This will become a portrait of a person doing something.
Gr. 1 will be starting a Mixed-Media Collage based on the art element TEXTURE.
Gr. 2 will be sponge painting fall colored leaves onto their Fall Activity Drawings.
Gr. 3 will be drawing and coloring patterns to outline their quilt drawings (based on the book Tar Beach by author/illustrator Faith Ringgold).
Gr. 4 will take a look at the work of artist W. Thiebaud and create their very own food paintings.
Gr. 5 will complete their Assorted Assemblage Candy Corn Characters this week. Horray!!!
Gr. 6 will start their Falling for Foreshortening drawings this week.
Gr. 7 will finish their sunset watercolor paintings this week so that they can add the silhouette with black tempera.
Gr. 8 will be working on their Phobia drawings based on the artwork of E. Munch entitled “The Scream.”
Art Elective class will be adding another round of paper mache to their 3D letters.
PARENTS: Please make sure you check your child’s Parent Portal for missing art work grades. Project grades will be logged every two to three weeks depending on the number of classes to complete the project. Also, some of the students in the Middle School, still need to bring in an old shirt.
