This Week in Art ~

ECC classes will start their Nativity Scene project by literally “hand-painting” brown paint onto their mangers to create a bed for baby Jesus.  More to details to follow…

Kindergarten will start coloring their Nativity drawings.  I’m SO proud of how fast this class is picking up the concept of drawing figures using shapes!

Our “Fabulous Firsties” will enjoy a lesson on Angels in Art as they view slides of Christian artwork portraying the birth of Our Savior Jesus Christ. A culminating Angel project will follow.

Second graders will be sponge painting the traditional Poinsettia flower to create a beautiful poinsettia picture.

The Third grade class continues coloring their Crayon Resist project of The Nativity.

Our Fourth grade students will be creating a colorful Angel picture fashioned in the art style known as Cubism.

Fifth graders will learn about the art of aluminum tin sculpture this week.  Following their original designs the students will carefully perforate the tin to create angels that illuminate when a battery operated candle is placed in the center.

The Sixth grade class will put the finishing touches on their Watercolor pointillism painting this week.  I’m SOOooo proud of how hard this class worked on their projects!

Our Seventh graders have been busy listening to Christmas music and finishing the other half of their Christmas card drawings.

Eighth graders will learn about Radial Symmetry in Design this week.  They will create a design to focus on a Christmas or Winter theme.

Art Elective students will be finishing up their First Trimester class by assembling a Christmas decoration created from old Christmas cards.

Keep Creating and Enjoy Your Week!
