I hope everone had a wonderful long weekend.  Two weeks ago, I am sent home a letter notifying everyone that I was collecting $10 from each family for our class parties. The money is due on Tuesday.

Math: We are having our Chapter 2 quiz on Wednesday.  It will focus on picture graphs.  Additionally, we are continuing to practice our math facts for both addition and subtraction.

ELA: We are reading Pop’s Bridge by Eve Bunting and discussing why everyone’s role on a project is important. We will focus on the target skills compare and contrast and story structure, and the target strategy infer/predict.  In grammar we are learning about proper and common nouns. Our target vocabulary words are crew, tide, cling, balancing, foggy, disappear, stretch, and excitement. Our spelling words are load, open, told, yellow, soak, shadow, foam, follow, glow, sold, window, coach, almost, throat, cold, most, tomorrow, and sailboats. We are not having any ELA tests this week.  Instead of our normal Friday testing,  we will be responding to the literature with a Bridge Challenge and also an art project.

Social Studies: We are focusing on the 5 regions of the United States.

Science: We are going to be learnign about bridges and then completing a Bridge Challenge.  We will be construction bridges using paper, and then testing their strength by piling pennies on them until they collapse.

Religion: We are studying the 6 chief doctrines and the first table of the Lord. Our religion memory test this week is on Job- Daniel. We have been practicing them while listening to this song .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7ZtWRSCH7E
