Thank you to Ms. Theis for organizing the Third Grade WINGO basket. The WINGO basket looks yummy, especially if you like candy!  I am sure it is going to be one of the children’s (and adults’) favorite baskets. If you haven’t sent in your donation for the basket, please do so now. WINGO is going to be a huge success because of everyone’s efforts. I hope everyone will be able to join. WINGO is on Friday May 20, 2022. If you still need tickets, please contact the front office.

As previously mentioned, the stuffed animal reports came out great! The children enjoyed looking at and discussing them with each others. Everyone did a fabulous job presenting their report to their classmates. They are currently on display in the hallway. Hopefully you will have an opportunity to see everyone’s stuffed animal during the Spring Concert in June.

The final Scholastic Book order form went home last week. Book orders are due Tuesday, May 17th. This will be the final book order for the year.  If you wish to place your order online, our class code is GZBYH. You can use this link

Math: We are working on the last chapter in Math. It is geometry, and it covers a lot of vocabulary. We will be having a quiz on Wednesday.

ELA: We are reading The Tale of Despereaux in class, and the children are enjoying hearing about the antic of a small, large eared mouse, who happens to be in love with a princess.  In grammar, we are working on contractions this week. Our vocabulary is a review from previous lessons. Our spelling words all have double consonants. They are jelly, bottom, pillow, happen, butter, lesson, cherry, sudden, arrow, dollar, hello, rabbit, letter, button, stubborn, and mirror. We will be having a grammar and spelling test on Friday.

Science: We are continuing our study of clouds and predicting the weather.

Social Studies We are beginning a new chapter: A Growing Nation. We will be focusing on ways to travel, including trails, rivers, wagons trains, railroads, highways, and airplanes.
